Brand is a "y plus charts" .. really, this isn't astrotufing, I'm just trying to understand. To be honest, I don't even think <brand> is the original source for this data and they're getting it from some API. Here's the link: https://<brand>.com/companies/AAPL/shares_outstanding -> 15.46B nasdaq.com (hope that's ok) just uses the outstanding shares last value from the sec edgar filing which is easy enough to find. Is the <brand> using some guestimate data for outstanding shares from some API source? I don't see any filings or announcements between quarterly fillings here for Apple buybacks / outstanding shares. Looking around, whoever <brand> is using seems like everyone else is using the same thing. Eg yahoo finance, bloomberg, etc. Anyone know how to figure out how many outstanding shares Apple has at some particular moment?
The 15.46B figure was in the DEF 14A filing 2024-01-11 and the represented the shares outstanding on 2024-01-02: https://www.sec.gov/ix?doc=/Archives/edgar/data/0000320193/000130817924000010/laapl2024_def14a.htm
