$60-80 billion of buyers incoming. sellers are ready to take profit on an super hyped up company that only recently just became profitable, but 10x'ed its market cap in 1 year. of course, everyone is talking about this, which means institutions are going to try to stay one step ahead and exploit this. How do you think this will play out between now and next week when it happens?

  2. It’s Friday not next week.
Funds have had weeks to position for it not to mention months in anticipation of TSLA being added.

  3. Does this mean the larger constituents of the index are going to drop Friday afternoon? Or is it priced in some how?

  4. And funds do not have to add by Friday as many believe.

    That's exactly what he means.
These things are all priced in already, at least by the folks that have the power to move the stock.
Everything else is just retail players at a craps table thinking they can levitate the dice.

how is it priced in? the index funds haven't added it yet, just the speculators.

    Because it's a "known".
A stocks price at any given time always incorporates the "knowns".
That's the best way I can explain it.

it still doesn't make sense to me. i understand if new information comes out on a company, like record subscribers, delivery numbers, mergers/buyouts, that would affect future outlook of a company. how is a bunch of money flowing into a stock considered already priced in?

Unless that can't be, nothing prevented these funds from buying Tesla shares over the last weeks, when they were selling at 400s, and moving them to the S&P tracking portfolios on the 21st. Et voilà !
