How do you get ideas/inspiration for your trades?

  1. I am interested in how do you guys get ideas for your options trades. Does it mostly come from books and tutorials, or you get them on forums / talking to other traders, or maybe by studying certain underlying and reading news about it?

  2. Via logic and deduction... from the charts.

Whatever your method... if it doesn't include price charts, you've got no chance of success.

  3. You shouldn't need to have to get "ideas/inspiration" for trades.;)

You should already know what you're comfortable trading and how. -- treat trading as a logical, systematic, boring day at the office...not some magical, divine intervention awesome thing.:confused:

  4. @lawrence-lugar I see! But even with systematic, logical approach (which I really like as a concept), I guess there are some triggers to coming up with a strategy? I know there are guys that are always testing new systems / plans - so how does one come up with an idea for that?
