There are currently enough Trump supporters in the population that makes this even more likely. None of those above listed factors will be our catalyst. Our catalyst will-be, and was the number of people believing in a lying, career buffoon.

    ...because of incompetent voters.

His supporters only care about their candidate. None of that other stuff matters to them.

Dictatorships are often unexpected. They have arisen among prosperous, educated and cultured people who seemed safe from a dictatorship — in Europe, Asia and South America.

Which other POTUS used unidentifiable personnel, in unidentifiable vehicles, in a state without the governor's permission, to kidnap citizens without cause, without charging them, to relocate them, hold them, then release them.

This is not about D's or R's (except to the extent that R's are complicit). This is about the rule of law.

Often growing up and studying history I wondered what the actual experience was in 1920s Germany for ordinary educated people. You think how could they possibly have not seen the bigger picture and suddenly they were outnumbered by what seemed a bit of a cult?

Well now its pretty easy to understand.

    Well, I still can't understand it. I can't understand:

The motivation for electing a reality tv show buffoon into the highest office,
Allowing a government to lie at will,
Allowing a government to blatantly break the law.

The best I've come up with is that about half the population is unable to detect bullshit. As every poker player knows, everyone was not given the gift to read people; and some more than others.

Our future doesn't look good. If this clown gets away with what he's been doing; just wait until a like-minded democrat gets in office.

Of course it is. Their lives were in black & white. Everything is easier to understand in color.

We have one right now. Obama never pulled crap like this...

    https://appleinsider.com/articles/1...y-president-trump-to-exit-china-manufacturing

"Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China," he continued, "including bringing your companies HOME and making your products in the USA."

The president does not have the authority to unilaterally order US companies to look for alternatives to China. It is theoretically possible to do so with legislation, but none is forthcoming..."

Trump grew a little square stache that day. I was watching the markets right as those tweets came out. They did not like it, no sir.
