    Hello,

I was at the TreasuryDirect website recently and I noticed that only investors based in the US can buy T-bills through the site. yet i read in the newspapers how foreign investors are buying a lot of US bonds. How can I do the same?

    regards,
    Nwoke.

I'm from West Africa and I've never travelled out. I'm basically looking for a safe place to put 40% of my monthly income.

I am not sure about Foreign Brokerage accounts, I buy T Bills commission free @ Auction directly from my Fidelity account.

how do i open a foreign brokerage account? Are the fees likely to be so high as to swallow all the interest?

    A foolish question?

  8. Even if you get a 6% yield (coming soon?) on 30 year treasury bonds, what's that worth if the dollar falls, say, 5% this year?

    Answer: right, just about nothing.
