  1. A brief look at Jim Simons, his life, and his fund(s).

  2. In his own words.

  3. So.. who is going to start studying geometry after that video? :sneaky:

    Or smoke cigs .
    Great childhood pattern, of his / 2X2=4; 4x2=8; 8x100% = 16...... some say 800, better to use 16; 16....is the the way the math teacher did it LOL.
    Strangely also past President of Long Oil Co, CIA ops + preacher Ben Haden said a math teacher in Brazil left $360,000,000 to his favorite soccer team .
    Strange.; actually amazing also maybe his health for cig smoker .
    Best way to give is not a foundation, which maybe best also for big hitters;
    best way is to give %% every week. Plenty of people never did big hitting, so they got rooked on no giving.
    Thanks and again great/ child patterns:caution::caution:

    Can someone summarize what strategy he uses or used?
    Ie. can the strategy still be used, or did it work in the old dark days of the last century only?... :)
    Is the guy still trading?

    It’s not just his brains. He built a brilliant organization.

    I study geometry of the markets.

    Example IBM daily (although I don't trade equities):-

    Suppose that you owned a firm with various tiers of fund offerings to different tiers of clients.

    Now when your firm buys a stock suppose that you wait for the returns to materialize, and then based upon the returns, you appropriate the stock to a selected fund.

    I have no evidence if that was done at Renaissance, but that would be a very quantitative and mathematical way to show outsized returns in one selected fund.

    RenTech's longest and most successful fund is ... the closed employee-owned Medallion Fund.
