This is one of the most thoughtful editorials I have read in a long time. I urge all ET members, regardless of political persuasion, to read it. https://www.vox.com/mischiefs-of-fa...622/democratic-congress-against-supreme-court
The entire article seems like a liberal pipe-dream. Add more justices to the court, impeach Kavanaugh, etc., etc. Not a bit of reality in the article.
Complete bullshit. Why does every libtard snowflake automatically think a conservative SCOTUS will ruin their lives. Now the plan is how do we circumvent it..... The only way SCOTUS interferes with your plans is if you enact a bunch of unconstitutional laws. Can't you people just grow up?
I read it as entirely non-partisan. Did you read the entire article? The author criticizes each alternative. He leaves it up to you to decide, from your personal viewpoint, the best course of action, including doing nothing. One choice left to Congress is to do nothing.
Yes.... I read the entire article. I will even admit that others should as well. The reality is that any of the points are really not realistic..... and a waste of (digital) ink to bring up IMO.
Once again proving one of the biggest problems with the left. When in power they want to pass legislation as if they'll never be out of power, and when out of power they want legislation passed as if they'll never be in power again. All similar to their selective complaints about the electoral process. They win, it's all good. They lose, and we need to overhaul the entire system.
Because their policies are massively unpopular with voters, so they have to depend on the courts to force them down people's throats under the guise of phony constitutional rights. How do you think we got gay marriage, abortion on demand, etc?
Its republicans who ended filibusters for the SC and stole a seat from a Democrat President.I support Dems doing whatever they need to do to get even.
If for no other reason, everyone should read it because hardly anyone, it seems, is aware of Article III, section ii in our Constitution. I alone have made note of this Article numerous time in these forums. This is one of the features that the founders used to assure that the greatest power by far would rest ultimately with the "Peoples House," as Hamilton vociferously argued for. And ultimately his arguments held sway. This is our Constitutional guarantee that a demagogue like Trump could be stopped cold in his tracks by a House that represented the best interests of the People.
Comedy... One of the "solutions" was Congress could pass laws. That is exactly what we don't want. As if Congress has passed a law for the good of the tax payers in the last 40 years.
