I bet Paul Pelosi trades on his phone while driving drunk. Life is easy when you're an insider.

And no SEC investigations, it’s just many years of dumb luck.

Foxes guarding the henhouse. The 3-letter agencies won't touch her, especially right now.

  6. Everyone's allowed to trade, as far as I'm concerned. Don't matter whether it's George Bush, Nancy Pelosi, Jamie Dimon, or your Uber driver, or your next door neighbor, or Overnight or MKTrader or ajacobson.
It's all the same to me.

That's not the point. If insider trading is illegal for us (and even a celebrity like Martha Stewart), then it should absolutely be illegal for politicians, who can write legislation for their financial advantage (something the Pelosis have done for things outside the stock market as well). If there are too many gray areas, maybe they shouldn't be able to own anything but index funds while in office. After all, they get a nice, taxpayer funded salary, vote themselves 21% pay raises and get a killer, set-for-life pension. And they're supposed to be our servants, not royalty.

  8. That's the way of the world, since the dawn of mankind. Get over it. Literally every place, country, in the world....and even for little kids in school....the power and elite set the tone for everyone else.
If you ran your own country, would you literally and technically have absolutely everyone be complete equals -- that would be impossible to enforce.

Besides, insider trading and back deals and favors....is what's politics are all about anyways. You're going to magically reverse that entire system, and human behavior?
I'm not admitting Nancy Pelosi is engaging in insider trading, though. She may or may not. Even if you get a tip from the CEO of a company...that's no guarantee you will make money. The markets can be finnicky to trade and foresee.

A tip from the CEO is almost 90% guarantee you will make money, at least in the short term. A tip is definitely what it takes to shift odds in your favor.
