How do I set a stop loss, or even a stop loss/ profit taker order with a hotkey in TWS? Like lets say I already have a position and i want to quickly set an order using hotkeys?

TWS has in Global Configuration to setup hot keys. But it's basic, you can't do multiple actions. I'm using DasTrader Pro and I can do multiple actions at once, like say sell 1/2 of existing position at midpoint between bid/ask price (for large spreads). You can't do that in TWS.

I use the chart trader hotkeys primarily, and have a lot of hotkeys setup. I did figure out how to exit 1/3 or half or whatever , at midpoint, bid , ask etc by using reverse position and then configuring orders under presets. But that's not what I'm asking about, I just want to click a button and have my stop show up, then drag it around to wherever I want. or even better have both a profit target and stop order in place. Surely I can hotkey a stop in TWS. It has the following stops under hotkeys but they don't do anything when I Shift +S.

Can you share how you did the hot key for selling at position at X size and at X price?

    Sure
So under hotkey pick reverse position. This will allow it to work both short and long. Then under Percent choose "25" for half, I chose 24 because If you click the hotkey twice quickly it will put two orders out for the same amount, and sometimes it rounds up slightly. Then you could actually end up reverse a couple shares on accident. If you press it once, then wait a few seconds and press it again, it will be half, then half of half on and on until basically a small position left. If you want 3/4 or 1/4 position then instead of 25 you would use like 12 or 75 instead of 25 in percent. Then in the presets configure your default settings in the circled red area to determine which side it will buy or sell. Mine is configured to take profit on the ask for a long and profit on the bid for a short. I have a differnt hotkey that changes the order to midpoint if I dont fill. But you could set it to midpoint by defualt

  7. Hello. I use the same approach for partial exits and have been trying to figure out if there is a way to code multiple hotkeys with the Reverse Position setup i.e. one hotkey for 50% exit, another for 75%, etc. Have you ever come across a way of doing that? As it stands, once that hotkey function (Reverse Position) has been used once it is no longer showing in the list of available options. Thanks in advance.
