Hi! I'm looking for trading fees of NYSE (maker rebates, taker fees, etc.), especially back to the early 2000s. Any suggestions where to find them would be appreciated. PS I've tried to contact the exchange but didn't have any luck so far. Thanks, H
Thanks for the prompt reply, zdreg. Because I'm only using NYSE data right now. But it would be lovely to know NASDAQ's too. H
Changes to all fees schedules should be filed with SEC. Try searching their archive or national registrar.
I wonder what the average transaction cost for 100 shares was during the Depression, 1920's. It'd be interesting to know if it is significantly different, percentage wise. I bet it was much higher per share / per trade considering that rates have dropped since deregulation.
$39 would sound pricey today, but for a dollar valued in 1920's or 1930's money it would be very expensive. Especially when you were only making 5 or 10 dollars a day.
