Historical data access with AMP/TTnet? (AMP specific question)

Discussion in 'Retail Brokers' started by DarthSidious, Oct 22, 2015.

  1. Q: I am looking for confirmation from actual users that using Multicharts .net platform with AMP/TTnet, I will have access to historical backfill data without having to subscribe to anything else (whether it be from AMP or a 3rd party)

I am considering AMP Futures. Currently I use SierraChart with a different broker, and one of the big reasons I have used SierraChart for a long time is that they provide futures data backfill. For a long time, I have not worried about my charts having data when I start up the platform in the morning, and I am not going to start now.

I have already asked AMP this question, and they said yes. I am looking for confirmation before I take the trouble to move my account there and find otherwise. Last time I used TTnet, it was with velocity futures with SierraChart, and I was never quite sure who was providing me the data backfill: SierraChart's servers or TTnet's servers. Thanks!

Also, if AMP/TTnet provides backfill data, how far back do they provide tick data backfill?

Confirmed. Historical Charting-Backfill Data is included AMP/TTnet connection into MultiCharts. - No additional subscriptions - No additional Fees.

With AMP/TTnet connection - you can connect to both Sierra Chart and MultiCharts. So you can maintain your SC while expanding to MC.

We look forward to supporting you reach your trading goals!

  3. Thank you. I have opened an account, and it was approved. I sent you a PM. Kindly reply to that. Will fund shortly afterwards.

  4. A bit of followup:
    1. Can I have both Sierra & MultiCharts running and trade from both? Or is it connecting one at a time? If no, what do I need to do to make this happen? Pay some sort of additional fees or would I need to have 2 separate accounts?
    2. Server side bracketing and OCO seems to be not available with TTnet, but is available with CQG. Is this true?

  5. Interesting question. I too would like to know.

    1. Sierra & MultiCharts via AMP can connect using all 3 available datafeeds: CQG, Rithmic+, AMP/TTnet.
    • Using AMP/CQG, in order to connect to both platforms at the same time, this will require 2 live credentials. If you want to connect to either Sierra Chart or MultiCharts seperately - all AMP/CQG connection are universally enabled for all available platforms, so you can freely connect to any of the platforms, just not at the same time.
    • Using AMP/Rithmic+ or AMP/TTnet, you can connect to both Sierra Chart and MultiCharts at the same time with the same 1 - trading credentials.
    2. Server-Side OCO are available by default and for FREE using AMP/CQG or AMP/Rithmic+. Correct, Server-Side OCOs using AMP/TTnet is only available if you are using X_Trader platform directly - Not Available with 3rd party platforms connecting via AMP/TTnet datafeed.

    Great Questions.

    Happy Trading!
