Unbelieveable! Following in the footsteps of yet another great "actor" or was it "President"? http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=1&u=/ap/20030807/ap_on_el_gu/davis_recall_142
LMAO this is a guy who couldn't even remember Gray Davis' first or last name on TV about 3 weeks ago... will the comedy of republicanism never end??? actors, not statesmen...
ARNOLD RULES. he's one of my all-time favorite famous people. one time he said he's socially liberal and fiscally conservative. that's pretty much how i am.
Yes, I seem to remember George W. Bush saying something very similar. "Compassionate Conservative". Remember Gordon, he may be one of your "all-time favorite famous people", but what does that really mean? You like the Terminator movies? You like his muscles? What do you know of his politics? When people run for office, they say exactly what they think their audience wants to hear. Maybe in Arnold's case, it is what his wife wants to hear. She is a Kennedy. And guess what. Kennedy Democrats are what Arnold describes himself as, if he said what you quoted him as saying. But he says he is a Republican. So maybe he needs to be evaluated before you vote for or against him. Don't be so quick to decide. Of course, it's all irrelevant to you anyway unless you live in California. Like most lawyers (and most politicians are lawyers), when a candidates lips are moving, it more often than not means they are lying. If you believe socially liberal and financially conservative make a good combination, what does that make you? What party are you registered with? It would essentially mean you are a Democrat. But I think I remember you lauding the efforts of President Bush. So this must mean you either believe he is socially liberal, which could not be further from the truth, or you don't really mean what you say. Which is it? Where is Jesse Ventura when you need him? Michelle
is 35% in the State of California and this is why so many companies are leaving the state, and/or exporting jobs overseas. While I don't know much about Arnold politically aside for his drive to get an Afterschool Educational Proposition passed last Fall, I do know that he understands that too many companies have left the state because of this ridiculous tax rate!
the good story is, the voters are bold enough to recall someone they don't believe is doing a good job, vs letting the status quo cost them etc... lets hope other states, countries, whatever... continue to question their politicians and replace them when needed, vs setting for poor leadership ken favorite arnold quotes?
"I just use my muscles as a conversation piece, like someone walking a cheetah down 42nd Street." "Learned helplessness is the giving-up reaction, the quitting response that follows from the belief that whatever you do doesn't matter."
Little noticed among all the Arnold hoopla was Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamonte circulating petitions to run. He won election last year by a resounding majority as the first hispanic statewide elected official in California's history. I predict he could he possibly defeat Arnold as Democrats enjoy a large registration advantage - and he could tap into Hispanic support
