What do you think could be the strategy behind this frequent buy and sell behavior?

  1. Hello everyone,

    I've been studying trading behaviors on decentralized exchanges and came across an intriguing pattern. The image below shows the buy and sell transactions of a single trader on the ARB/USDC trading pair. In the graph, orange dots represent sell orders, and blue dots represent buy orders.

    As you can see, this trader is very active, placing buy and sell orders almost with every price fluctuation. This frequent trading activity has me puzzled, and I have a few questions I hope you can help me with:

    1. What strategies might be behind such frequent buy and sell activities?
    2. What impact does this trading behavior have on market prices? Does it exacerbate price volatility?
    3. Is this kind of behavior common for single traders on decentralized exchanges? Are there any data to support this?
    4. Why does this trading pattern always seem to result in prices increasing with buy orders and decreasing with sell orders?
    I would greatly appreciate any insights or discussions on this topic.

    Looks like pretty much a trend trader. If you can share his volumes, that explains everything if he is profitable or not and if he has a workable trading system or not etc.

    I see that you are / were below 5 years old.

    I have 1 question for you;

    Is he consistently profitable?

    If not or if you don't know, DO NOT waste your time analyzing other people's trades.

  4. the volumes of adjacent buy and sell orders is very close, with a deviation of about 5%

  5. I'm still in the process of crawling through all of his transactions to determine whether he is ultimately profitable. I'll share more details once I have a comprehensive analysis.
