I have these PUT OPTIONS (I sold to open) I don't understand these columns I did read the definition with still doesn't make sense Change is from how long ago ? Position-1 ; is that cause insold 1 contract ? P&L? CST BSS ? P&L% ; WHY IS IT ALWAYS 0? Unrealized p&L vs unrealized P&L %? Market value ? My CAD cash is always -2?
IMO .......... Keep it simple. Have one position open and check the P/L the following day. Multiple positions is just too confusing.
Don’t listen to optionsoptionsoptions. Having only one trade will not allow you to do anything. Multiple positions too confusing lmao. position is indeed how many positions you’re _short_. That’s why the - sign is in front. If you had bought, the sign is positive. P&L percentage is always 0% cuz as an option writer, you don’t have any position to begin with from which you can calculate the profit. You only earn the premium. Ofc you could calculate it on margin put up, but that’s up to you to decide how to calculate. market value is just how much the position is worth. When you close, this is how much you pay. for the rest, i really recommend the guide provided by IBKR. You can just download the pdf and then do ctrl+f and try to find the terms you’re looking for (like “market value”) and etc. Good luck with all the rest!!
