Help me understand my account changes

  1. I was short 8 contracts of "SPY Sep15'17 249 CALL", I was notified the options were exercised last night, so I was short 800 SPY. SPY closed at $249.47 yesterday, so I guess the exercise was reasonable.

In the pre-market, SPY was traded below $248.6, so I closed all my short SPY positions.

    Now my IB account shows:

    Net Liquidation: 19,413
    Cash: 20,365

I only have several worthless options in my account, my cash and Net Liq should be about the same. I was aware of the SPY dividend, but I don't know if I was involved or how it may affect my account. Can anyone help me understand it? Thanks!

  2. Got the answer, the difference is the dividend.
