I am interested in options. I have started a demo account with IG to trade options . I note these are not an option house and seem to have little information on the options other than what they are.

The P/L figures make no sense to me. Please somebody explain below:

    TRADE
26.5.16 - SP 500 weekly 2060 Call buy 1. Closed 27/05/16 (bought on Thursday and expired Friday).

    £416 Profit

US 500 Closed 2100.89, therefore this makes sense to me.

    TRADE
    01/06/16 US 500 2110 Put buy 1. Closed 1.6.16

    -£426.65 loss

US 500 Closed 2099.39. Why is this a loss?

    TRADE

    Quarterly GBP/JPY 16200 CALL Buy 0.5

    -86150 running loss

    Price currently at 157.30

    Quarterly GBP/JPY 16200 PUT Buy 0.5

    +144200 running profit

I opened a straddle and this has not been closed. the underlying price has moved since opening quite alot and i understand why this is the running p/l.

Any light shed on the above figures would be appreciated.

    Many Thanks

You'l wanna stay well away from IG, they are a bucket-shop. Last time I checked the spreads were really really bad. Kinda like started a 100mt race 10mt behind every1.

Eitherway, go sign up with Tdameritrade, Interactive brokers if you want to trade index options.

The whole company is a bucket shop. God only knows whats going on with your $ over there at IG.

Just stay away from them. Trading the future is a lot better. You will get a much better entry / exit price.
