If there are no bids on the long, you can just buy back the short leg. Note that if the stock makes a sharp move before expiration and that long goes in the money, you could still get assigned - but going from no-bid to ITM is not very likely.
Yeah...let it expire, close your account and delete the app. You have no business in options. And I do not want to shame you, but if you don't know the basic mechanics of trading, you should not touch non-linear instruments.
I thought forums were to help people!?!? I guess I should of put I personal disclaimer up in the initial post . "I am a newbie who is paper trading and learning so I am here to asking questions. "
Forums aren't "to" anything. They're a place where people can communicate - and while people usually don't mind, or even like helping others, no one wants to waste their time holding your hand through every little fiddly detail. You can pay someone for that, or you can do it on your own - but I don't know of anyone who is here to teach at the kindergarten level. I can tell you from personal experience - and I first came in here as a total newbie - that there are many people in this forum who are both knowledgeable and willing to help. But you have to put in the work, learn the basics, do your best to learn the language... do everything you possibly can to figure it out on your own, and then reach out. Laziness, especially when it's as evident as "I haven't bothered to read the docs - spoon-feed it to me!", is not rewarded here, or in any other forum I know of. To quote an apropos take on forum participation from elsewhere: THIS IS NOT A HELP DESK. THIS IS A COMMUNITY POTLUCK. DON'T WHINE BECAUSE SOMEONE DIDN'T BRING ICE CREAM. DON'T BOGART THE POTATO SALAD. BRING SOMETHING OCCASIONALLY, YOU BUM. EVEN CHIPS. DON'T WHINE WHEN SOMEONE SAYS WE DON'T HAVE TABLE SERVICE. That last one is the one you want, or even think you have a right to have. No, there is no table service [here]. It's all self-serve. Get unlazy, and get all the food you want. It's buffet-style, baby. You gotta do some footwork yourself. -- Randal L. Schwartz
