Hello everyone, I recently experienced an issue with my broker regarding an abnormal spread spike on the EURUSD pair, and I need advice or insights from the community.
Here are the details of the situation:
    1. My broker's typical spread for EURUSD is around **2.7 pips**.

    2. On the MT4 platform, between **23:59 and 00:02** (server time), the broker restricts trading.

    3. However, during this period, I noticed that the spread increased abnormally to as high as **20–23 pips**.

    4. There were no **geopolitical events** or **economic news releases** at that time that could justify such an increase.

    5. It was also **not during Monday's market opening**, which might normally explain wider spreads.
I contacted the broker about this issue, and they asked me to provide comparative spread data from other brokers during the same period. Unfortunately, as most of you know, individual clients like me cannot easily access historical spread data from other brokers.

    ### My Questions: 1. Is there any tool, platform, or indicator that allows gathering **historical spread data** for EURUSD from multiple brokers? 2. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue where spreads spike unreasonably during restricted or non-trading hours? 3. What would be the best approach to address this issue with my broker? I would appreciate any insights, advice, or guidance you can share. Thank you!

If you are unable to trade during thr 3 min window? why are you concerned with it?

Spread spikes can be frustrating. For historical spread data, tools like Myfxbook or TradingView might help. Unusual spikes during restricted hours could indicate manipulation—document all evidence. To address it, escalate your complaint, share screenshots, and consider switching to a more transparent broker.

I had a look in my prorealtime for you (connected with IB).It is a demo account for wat is worth it. Between 00.00 and 00.10 price moved up from 1,03513 to high of 1,03554 so an up range of 41 pips. In the next 30 seconds it moved down to a low of 1.03497. Down 57 pips in half a minute. Hope this is of any help. Now let me ask a question: I am just exercising in demo with a spread of 2 – 3 pips (USD/EUR) And made a profit of 120 pips yesterday with various pairs. Any advice where to get better spreads?

FX futures contracts. Regulated market, one exchange, no more spread/price manipulation.

    Have a look at Tickmill.

The problem with futures is that there are only a few pairs, FX CFDs are better choice for FX traders in my opinion, depending on what/how you trade . . .

It's just regular action around the start of a new trading day.
    Brokers are balancing their books.
Some brokers halt trading (up to 15 min.)
Some brokers widen their spreads and on other charts it registers as a spike.

It's impossible to make or clear a new deal, but the spread popped out at the time, causing a $100,000 loss due to the stopout position
