I have a question for you guys. I'm interested in starting a very small hedge fund with my own money. I've been trading well for a while. My question is this I understand how to trade on a small account 100k, but I'm interested in learning how to manage a large fund. I'm interested in different techniques on managing large funds. I realize that there's a big difference in trading 100k and managing 10 million I was wondering if anyone could recommend any quality books on how to manage a hedge fund.
Contact some existing hedge funds and read their promotional literature, talk to their sales people. Learn from the competition.
hi lasner, Not sure if you need biz/tax structure setup, but if you do there may be some good info here; http://www.greencompany.com/HedgeFunds/LaunchServices.shtml It seems to me the big difference between trading and having a hedge fund with greater amounts of capital in the market are the 'hedging' techniques. I've browsed quite a few websites from various funds and sometimes a general overview of their money management policy can be found there or in the prospectus, etc. good trading!
