As a decades long fan of the UK original on BBC I was expecting them to take a while to get into the swing as US crossovers rarely work, especially when the source material is pointed and smart. The Office was one of the successes. I didn't watch all of series one, hosted by Roy Wood Jr, wasn't impressed by the first couple of shows but the second show of series two has a Republican and they roast him in good style. This was always the strength of the show, they could get guests from a diverse background even if the guillotine was inevitable. The opening here with Nigel Farage is classically wicked. The BBC original long ago moved to a new presenter every week with always the same two team captains. I guess that would be too novel in the US launching it but it worked very well so fingers crossed. They are beginning to get the idea:
