I'm trying to wire some GBP funds over to an AMP account from my UK account and their wire transfer instructions are confusing both myself and my bank. Every wire transfer i've ever sent before just needs an 1/ account number 2/a sort code 3/an IBAN 4/ a reference. There is no space to enter any other information on the wire transfer form. But the wire transfer instructions on AMP's website are Correspondent Bank: ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND – LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM Correspondent Swift code: Beneficiary Bank: BMO Harris Bank N.A. – CHICAGO, USA Beneficiary Bank SWIFT Code: Beneficiary Bank IBAN: Beneficiary Account Name: AMP Global Clearing Beneficiary Account Number: Remittance/Memo: AMP TRADING ACCOUNT NAME & AMP ACCOUNT NUMBER Surely I am the corresponding bank? All the cashiers at my bank say "this makes no sense", there is no field to enter for correspondent bank. Is it safe to just send direct to beneficiary's details and get it picked up? Last time I asked AMP's support guys they just pretty much said "thats what the form says, cant help you any more than that" so thought i'd ask here. Cheers
@tommo - please PM your AMP account number. Our funds clerk, will contact you directly and help you. Happy Holidays!
our pleasure. with all these EU banking changes due to this MiFid II - we are currently on pause from adding a local EU/UK bank. But it is in our plans for next year. Happy New Years!
No problem. I went to the bank again today and they were still a bit confused with where to add details for correspondent banks. But think they sorted it.
For Clarification, you will be sending an International Wire to the AMP (GBP) BMO Bank Account held in the United States. It is a normal international wire process. The correspondent bank SWIFT is the only additional information you would need to add for quick wire transfer. If you have any questions or would like confirmation of the wire transfer instructions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
