I recently had a moment where I completely forgot about an open trade. I had planned to keep an eye on it and didn’t set a stop loss, thinking I’d be able to manage it. But life got in the way, and I ended up forgetting all about it. Has anyone else experienced something similar? How did it go for you?
When I just started trading crypto in 2019 I bought some alt coin and forgot about it before going to bed. In the middle of the night I woke up and realized, "Crap! I didn't get out of my position!" And when I checked it, it had risen above 20%! So I sold it, and then went back to bed...
I wish the eMini short I made earlier @ 6070.00 I had forgotten about, instead of only taking a few points out.
Not a week ago I forgot I had bought some XRP, I made some decent profits on it, let it be and forgot about it for like a day, I cam back to soaring losses
With our estate planning (Fidelity), we have planned it out that when we die, the bank's trust department can handle it pretty easy. We just have covered calls, stocks, US Treasuries, ETFs, mutual funds, a money market fund. If no one touches our account it should be good/maybe fine for a year or two. With Schwab, I am concerned with when US Treasuries mature...They go into Schwab Bank...Earning diddly/squat. I'm 69 and my wife is 67...
Way back when I was with Bright Trading I was trading OPG’s and pairs. I got filled on a OPG of Colgate for I think 2000 shares and at the same time I had a fair number of pairs on and my position window couldn’t fit everything on the screen. We were also running an automated exit program for the OPG and it worked on every fill except Colgate. Anyways most my pairs were 1-300 by 1-300 and all the sudden my PL started going up up up and I couldn’t figure out why, I had spreadsheets set to light up if targets were hit and nothing was lighting up lol. Anyways finally found my beautiful position of Colgate and happily took a few thousand dollar profit on a mistake.
