Hardware/Software trading desk set up @ home...

Discussion in 'Forex' started by twoplus2is1, Aug 31, 2006.

  1. As a beginner and eventually full time forex trader at home, could someone give me an understanding of what kind of detailed hardware/software I would need to purchase in order to have a full trading desk setup (beyond my little laptop). I'm looking to eventually organize an elaborate set up in my home once I learn more about currency trading and familiarize myself with all the tools available. Links and detailed info would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance...

  2. Hello...

It is interesting to read your posts and experience the "newness" of it all. I think your going to be a good trader and you are seeking pieces of the puzzle.

I suggest 1gb RAM and Windows XP pro on a broadband connection. Stay away from wireless set ups.

19" LCD monitors give you great screen real estate and they have come down in price. Matrox has great dual video cards and search the handel, "Gnome" here in ET and PM him...he has some spare cards he can set you up with.

I'm going to have to disagree, 1k of RAM is definitely not enough - I would recommend at least 1GB. :D

And don't forget to buy a good sized UPS so you don't have your connection crash if the power hiccups.
