  3. Hindus will become the world’s third largest population by 2050, while India will overtake Indonesia as the country with the largest Muslim population, according to a new study.

According to the Pew Research Center’s religious profile predictions assessed data released on Thursday, the Hindu population is projected to rise by 34 per cent worldwide, from a little over 1 billion to nearly 1.4 billion by 2050.

By 2050, Hindus will be third, making up 14.9 per cent of the world’s total population, followed by people who do not affiliate with any religion, accounting for 13.2 per cent, the report said.

Absolutely ethnic. Political Correctness dictates that we recognize, celebrate, and honor any and every pagan festival just because some of our society do so and because we have a mixed ethnic society. I greatly respect Indian culture but it does not mean that we all have to be aware and celebrate Indian festivities in the same way that I do not even want to be made aware when Ramadan takes place. If I express interest then I will inform myself but why do all of those ethnic issues have to be pushed through mass media, public forums, and what have not. There is a stark contrast between being politically correct and respecting the ethnic background and makeup of society as the founding fathers intended it. Christianity has already been "outlawed" from most government and political functions and I do not criticize it, but I believe when Indians come to the United States or Europe they ought to fit into our culture. They do not have to worship our God but they should in my opinion keep to their own customs and stop spreading them around as if they are looking to make the US their little India. After all they came to the US for other reasons, right? Most Americans or Europeans also try to fit to local customs when they live in Asia, unless they are living in a segregated tight-knit expat community which does not infringe nor put local Indians at a discomfort.

Maybe you could look at it like this: What would happen if Westerners would proclaim and wish everyone in China a Merry Christmas and Happy Easter and spread the "good news"? I do not think I have to answer this question for you, it is pretty apparent what the result will be. Same thing in India, Indians will very quickly tell Westerners to fit in or shut up or leave. Same thing in Japan, you fit in, or get pushed down or you leave. I think being culturally sensitive is not just an obligation of the host but of the immigrant/guest as well.

I know I possibly go overboard with this post after you just wished others well, but the issue is that it does not stop there. We can already see this with how Muslims actively recruit the disenfranchised in the US. And while all Americans are happy that immigrant Indians can celebrate their ethic festivals it should not mean that the rest of the nation has to be confronted and deal with each and every ethnic issue that came from abroad. In Rome do as the Romans do is imho a golden rule.
