I hope this is not true because I really do no want the government having meetings with media corproate to direct them what to say or not say. If they are saying stupid shit or inaccurate they can simply respond factually through their office or let the other side handle it (i.e. CNN or MSNBC). It is fine if the White House wants to reach out to discuss their coverage of something but it should not be done with any stick or carrot pushing it.
Does FOX News really want to be on the receiving end of a White House coordinating campaign dispelling FOX's anti-vaxxer nonsense on a daily basis -- having administration officials mock FOX while cutting them out of press briefings & other meetings? I think FOX News was told what a what "responding factually through their office" and letting "the other side handle it" was going to look like. Including images of COVID graveyards interposed with "brought to you by FOX News" posted everywhere plus human interest stories from many people along the lines of "FOX News anti-vax propaganda killed my mom/dad/grandma/grandpa/etc. who watched FOX News regularly & died of COVID". It was enough to change the messaging of nearly all FOX News commentators overnight -- with the exception being Tucker Carson who appears to be just avoiding mentioning it in recent days.
