I have always stated that hydroxychloroquine can be used in properly supervised medical studies for COVID-19. It should not be vastly prescribed by doctors in the U.S. for COVID now that the FDA emergency use authorization has been withdrawn. Doctors who prescribe hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19 outside the scope of a study can lose their licenses for unapproved off-label use of the medicine. If you take a look at DeWine has done - he has merely removed the total prohibition on hydroxychloroquine in Ohio that prevented it from even being used in COVID-19 medical studies. All of this being said - it is pretty easy for any doctor who wants to prescribe hydroxychloroquine at this point to join an approved medical study - there are still over 50 going on in the U.S.
So inquiring minds want to know...Is DeWine getting coal from you this year for Christmas? He's already got one strike against him in that his last name has a De(something). But now this??
Ohio's governor DeWine is actually one of the governors to provide good leadership in battling COVID. His state was one of the first to recognize the danger and shutdown -- and had a cautious realistic re-opening plan. DeWine still has high approval ratings in Ohio where 68% of Ohio residents approve of the way DeWine has handled the crisis.
DeSantis should call DeWine for proper guidance on how to deal with COVID-19. Florida would be in a different place if DeSantis had followed what DeWine did.
