Great for short selling in getting locates. I was leery of them initially since they didn't have many reviews. Went with Cobra, since they had many more reviews. But later did join Guardian, no issues and their commissions are better than Cobra. Their edge is that Velocity LLC owns them which does their backend execution which allows them to be more competitive in pricing. Velocity also provides locates for LightSpeed. Centerpoint is the priciest of the trio. If you get big enough, having all 3 would probably cover your need for any locates, tho personally I would just keep Cobra/Guardian. Wish I didn't have to pay twice for DasTrader but not a big issue if you are making money.
@lupincode, my opinion is still pretty much the same. I like Guardian/Cobra since they offer lower commissions than Centerpoint. The stock locates at all 3 are great, tho like I previously said, having more than one broker with stock locates is important if you are a full time daytrader. If you are a new daytrader, starting with either Guardian or Cobra is a good start.
True but consider the cash outlay. 3 accts x $30k ($25k PDT)= $90k. Beginners prob don't have that much cash. Even intermediate level daytraders would need to consider having the min account balance spread over 3 accts is less optimal than over 1 or 2 accts.
