Here we have, with few exceptions, a dead-horse market propped up by Trillions upon Trillions in Quantitative easing.

What shall we call this era?
    • Great Depression? TAKEN
    • Great Recession? TAKEN
    • Great Gatsby? TAKEN
    • Great Stagnation? YES!!!
I expect that we'll be locked in our homes for the rest of 2020, and it will take at least 10-20 years to recover from this. Perhaps become a province of China in the process.

Can you hear Japan saying "Welcome aboard, USA!"

    Any other ideas for names?

Great Lockdown coined by Gita Gopinath.

The term has resiliency whether we have V, U or L.

How about an S? Where we go forward, see what we did wrong, go back in time, fix it, and go forward at a higher level?

Your ideas on this are deeply delusional, as are your forecasts for SPX levels. This will be very clear given due time.

"deeply delusional?" Had I told you on Friday that the price of oil would go down to $1 a barrel today, would you have said the same? Had I told you in January that we'd be in a state of emergency tantamount to martial law, would you have called this idea "deeply delusional?"

"deeply delusional" properly describes these markets and the current political situation.

Perhaps, my friend, you need a good deep dose of delusion.

I think I beat you by at least 3 months on the stagnation front (eg. Japan, version 2). But seriously, you need to be cognizant of Fed's "QE Infiniti". Don't be so naive as to think they only have money printing press at their disposal. Oh, trust me, they have a lot more tricks up their sleeves, things so friggin' outlandish that it'll put BOJ to shame.
