In a 2010 deposition in the case, given a week after he was elected to his first term in the U.S. House, Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) testified that he believed a 13-year-old girl could consent to sex, the AP reports.

Well, such an act is not mentioned in the Constitution.

  3. 13 is too young; the legal age for consensual relationships...should be 16, nationwide.

I was certainly mature and wise by that age, already. I would hardly call it taking advantage of a naive, ignorant, dumb, pure, inexperienced, human being.

If 16 year olds could get a job, and their driver's license/permit...they should certainly be old enough to consent legally, if they choose to.

The Law is funny and strange. Two 16 year olds could form a relationship, and it's considered sweet.
But if one of them is over 18 by a day....it's considered rape, wrong and illegal? Does that make sense to you?
