Thanks for sharing, learned about DuckDuckGo from the comments. Might start using it instead of Google

Stopped using Google way back. VPN, HTTPS everywhere, Firefox and DuckDuckgo all the way for me. Snoop on me if you can, Zuck and Co.

  6. I'm using DuckDuckGo since quite a while and can always find what I'm searching for. There's no need for Google's search engine.

Interestingly none of the internet stack stream of consciousness you spewed has the least bit to do with Google except for duckduckgo.

  8. Don't use Firefox. If you still prefer Firefox based browser, use Waterfox.
    Else, use Brave or Vivaldi.

I have been using Duck mostly but have used Startpage(.com) in the past. Startpage is EU based but uses Google search without the tracking. The following is from the Startpage main page:

You can’t beat Google when it comes to online search. So we’re paying them to use their brilliant search results in order to remove all trackers and logs. The result: The world’s best and most private search engine. Only now you can search without ads following you around, recommending products you’ve already bought. And no more data mining by companies with dubious intentions. We want you to dance like nobody’s watching and search like nobody’s watching.

Spread the word and IMO avoid all Google products when possible.
