Does anyone know off-hand if stops placed on the Globex, ECBOT, NYMEX systems are visible to anybody else (Concerned about running stops). Also, are stops in the IB system available for anyone to run? As I understand it, IB does not trade and therefore, stops with IB should not be visible to anyone. What about IDEAL PRO stops? Basically, I have had stops placed with some Forex Dealers that were clearly run before reversing on a dime and heading the other way - very frustrating. I will be trading on globex, ecbot, nymex, and IDEAL Pro and I was wondering if it is safe to place stops or if I have to monitor every trade to trigger stops manually. Thanks for any replies.
I can't speak for forex, but in real markets no one sees your stop order. But understand this, you put your stop order in the wrong place, it's subject to being run. Frankly, it's not that hard to know where stop order are placed by retail traders, whether you see it or not. OldTrader
