Ghost bid?

  1. For lack of a better term. I'd like to know what's going on, if anyone here has a clue. I'm in the middle of a swing trade with ABAT. Currently trading @ 4.12/4.13 but this huge bid keeps popping up down in the threes, sometimes 3.50 or at the most 3.80. Size of 10k shares. Then it disappears. Size actually fluctuates alot, anywhere from 1800 to 11k. Normal bid size is 1000, 2000. or so...you know, it's a 4 dollar stock. So when 10k shows up way below the bid and goes away after a few minutes I'm scratching my head. This happens all day long. Been going on since last week. It's UBS.

    Things I do know:

    Stock is under accumulation.
    Just reported their best quarter.
Just came up off a huge dip to 3.00 for no reason.

Anyway, to hell with the black helicopter theory, would anybody venture a guess as to why UBS is placing these bids so far below the current price?
