Let's bring back again the topic of company organization: For those in need of an introduction: https://www.ribbonfarm.com/2009/10/07/the-gervais-principle-or-the-office-according-to-the-office/
Short summary / explanation. Clueless layer is the middle management. They are clueless because they put in a disproportionate amount of work into the job compared to how much they get in return, both in monetary and moral compensation: 1) Monetary: they work long hours and sacrifice themselves for the company. Get back in return: their salary. Bit more than the losers but in no way enough to compensate for the increased responsibility. 2) Moral: they tend to convince themselves that somehow "the company" knows and appreciates them. Now the losers and the socipaths, they appreciate both #1 and #2 to their true value. In essence the only difference between a socipath and a loser is the drive. Losers either don't want at all to leave their level and progress or have errorneously interiorized the mantra of "career progress", obviously an artefact of the #clueless level. And gave up. True socipaths like me are very interested in career progress but skipping one level Else, except for degenerate cases who are rapidly filtered out, they are generally very intelligent people who have no problem holding a job at the loser level. Till opportunity arises > : )
