Hi all, has anyone experience trading through Generic Trade? I am trialing their web based demo account and like what I see. But I cannot find any recent reviews of them on here or elsewhere. What would be equal or better alternatives? My requirements: calendar spreads on CME, low volume and frequency, no API, just a simple and easy dealing platform, ideally web-based as well at a low fix cost. Generic Trade seems to tick all the boxes but maybe I should also consider alternatives. Thanks all!
They say,"How can Generic Trade offer so much for so little? No bells, no whistles, no brokers and no salespeople." We, we offer third party software that has a cost but our futures commissions start at $0.60 and you get me as your salesperson and a support desk for an extra $0.01.
I hear all fees are waived if you can figure out what TV show from the 1980's his profile pic reminds you of. (Hehe, even he doesn't know what I'm on about, as I never explained it to him. I am trying to find a video clip of that old show to demonstrate. No luck so far.)
I believe that Generic is an IB of Iron Beam, and the software is FireTip. If it fits your needs, great. TT for spreads as a web-based execution. https://optimusfutures.com/TradingTechnologies-Platform.php Also, consider CQG for web-based execution https://optimusfutures.com/CQG-Desktop.php
Thanks you all. By the way, where can I actually see the capital reserves of a clearing firm? Do they need to be published in the public domain? Apologies if this is a newbie question perhaps, I am not having much luck finding this info. Finding an FCM's record on the NFA is easy and straight forward but now I am stuck. Thanks!
Thanks! Advantage have it on their site actually but no one else. The clearing firms in question are: IB, AMP Global, Dorman, Ironbeam and Wedbush.
