Gap trading EUR/USD futures/Spot

Discussion in 'Forex' started by Nighthawk, Oct 3, 2014.

  1. Now, we had in the last couple of weeks this wonderful EUR/USD fall and everybody and his grandmother made some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Now, after today´s job report, I think the party is over and we might see a brutal EUR comeback.

The ECB will not engage in QE for a long time from now as they need to implement the ABS buying program which will start in Q4.

This means, EUR/USD could fill some gaps that have opened in the day session (Globex NOT included).

Here is a nice strategy to profit from it:

It seems, we will close at the low end of daily, weekly and monthly chart formations. Why not profit from a bounce back with a hedged Spot FX EUR/USD long? Buy some put EUR options and go long Spot EUR/USD.

Just my 6 cents to make a good risk/reward trade.

don't like the trade, I'd rather stay short the euro and buy some calls. I've never traded fx options, where do you buy them? Are they traded on the CME?

I've never traded fx options, wouldn't even know how to. I had what was like a synthetic on though.

I have been long aud.usd and short eur.usd for a long time. Miraculously both were showing me a nice paper profit going into NFP. I had a tight stop on both. It was going to take a hell of a move for my stop to get hit on either position. The numbers came out and we got a hell of a move and my long aud.usd immediately got stopped out and the eur has now gone on to Glory. So it acted sort of like a straddle.

give me some more info on where I can get a quote on fx options (I don't want google it because I don't want to have to go through pages and pages of bucket shop sites.)
