Gallup poll: Majority of Americans now support Trump's impeachment, removal

A majority of Americans surveyed in a
new Gallup poll — 52 percent — say they want President Trump impeached and removed from office as House Democrats pursue an impeachment inquiry against him.

The results from a poll released Wednesday mark a 7-point rise in support for Trump's impeachment since a Gallup survey in June, about 2 months after the release of former special counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

But 46 percent of respondents in the new poll said Trump should not be impeached and removed from office, according to the latest poll.

Support for impeachment remains overwhelming among Democrats at 89 percent, while 55 percent of independents polled said the same. Only 6 percent of Republicans said they supported Trump’s impeachment and removal, 1 point less than in June.

The poll also found a rise in approval for Congress in the past month, with 25 percent of U.S. adults saying they approve of its job performance, up from 18 percent in September, before Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced the launch of an impeachment inquiry into the president over his contacts with Ukraine.

The poll showed that approval of Congress’s job performance spiked specifically among Democrats, with 34 percent of the respondents saying they now approve of the legislative body, up from 19 percent a month ago.

The poll also found a 6-point increase in approval of Congress among independents, while Republicans' approval level remained steady at 17 percent.

Meanwhile, Trump’s approval rating among Americans also remained largely steady, with 39 percent of respondents in the new poll saying they approve of the job he is doing — down from 40 percent in September.

The latest Gallup poll surveyed 1,526 adults via telephone interviews on Oct. 1-13. The adults lived in all 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points for the poll with a confidence level of 95 percent.

    Multiple polls says the same

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/19/politics/impeachment-poll-of-the-week/index.html

When Quinnipiac polled about the inquiry from September 27 to 29, 52% approved of it. From October 4 to 7, 53% approved. Now, 51% approved.

CBS News/YouGov polling shows a similar trend. On September 26 to 27, 55% approved of the impeachment inquiry. From October 8 to 11, it was 53%.

Marist College did a one-day poll on September 25 and put support for the inquiry at 49% among all adults. When it polled from October 3 to 8, that jumped to 52%.

Just speaking to an acquaintance who is your classic shallow knowledge Trumper and surprisingly the Doral thing has him against Trump now. He worked in hotels before becoming a trader and could see how Trump was going to profit bigly. They do kind of need very simple, relate-able lessons.

Amazing with these guys sometimes. You mean this, this! is what makes the other shoe drop with you? Well ok, whatever.

  6. Posted in my most non aggressive conversational tone. Your friend and people like him never really supported Trump in the traditional way. We, as Michael Moore correctly described it, just gave a big fuck you to the political establishment. The whole Russian conspiracy was/is bullshit and we knew it. All of his sexual escapades are irrelevant. The day to day corruption is business as usual in DC. In short the left has no high ground to stand on to judge him about the same shit they pull day in, day out. What's worn on us is he can't get shit done and his never ending I'm the greatest is no longer amusing. Couple of SC justices got appointed which would have happened with any Republican in office. I could go on and on, but bottom line he's like the drunk and the end of the bar who just isn't funny anymore. Time to 86 his ass and get back to business. Problem is the new crowd walking in isn't making anyone feel all warm and fuzzy. Pointing out the drunk is an asshole is like, yeah, we got that, now tell us what you can do. Their response is free shit for everyone and we're all gonna die soon. Okay, next.

Yes, he voted for Trump as he "hated Hillary" because of Benghazi and because his friends all hated her I recall. On a slow drive to the airport he admitted after I made him google the Benghazi reports to date, with the carrot of an easy high probability trade as a reward, his hatred was based on precisely nada facts. His response? Basically as best I recall "Well I have hated her for so long I can't feel different now and I can't be out of step with my friends and family as it would be awkward".

The Muller investigation.. seems to have caused your brain to do a divide by zero. Perhaps it is the "Conservatives believing things they made up themselves" effect with you. What you think liberals believed rather than what most did. It convicted several and had Trump given testimony as Clinton did, he would have hung himself most might have expected with confidence. We just found out that Don Jr's refusal to voluntarily testify was hidden from Congress in the report (just been un-redacted in another court case) and the reason why he did not appears to be in the still redacted part.

"Lawyers for other witnesses in the probe have said they believe Trump Jr.’s attorneys informed prosecutors he would assert his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination if called to the grand jury and that Mueller’s team elected not to force his testimony by asking a judge to grant him immunity."

Muller seemingly expected the Republican Congress to take up the baton but they did not. Anyway, it stone cold uncovered collusion, just not quite juicy enough.

I'm afraid the shit-show of incompetence, corruption, more war crimes (Yemen) and worst of all, you getting slightly bored now was all predicted before the election.

Great, well get back to the old plan of don't make a fuss about him being rightfully impeached and see if enough beneficial stuff happened for the wrong reasons in the following years. Or.. he really screwed the West.

Yes, because useless bogus polls vote? No dummy. Only US citizens vote! You trolls do not count! Foreigners interfering in US elections is a felony! President Donald Trump will be re-elected another 4 years and I would urge him to tighten the enforcement of US immigration laws further! We cannot have riff raff like you foreign trolls coming into the US! Stay in your countries where you belong!

  10. My God. The time has really come. The polls are clearly and decisively showing it is time to impeach President Trump. Poor conflicted Nancy. She and Hillary respected the electoral process in 2016 when Hillary ceded the election to Trump. But somehow, someway, the polls have turned against Trump by such a degree, not impeaching him is a dereliction of duty. So with what has to be the heaviest heart ever, Nancy will reluctantly initiate impeachment proceedings against Trump.

I can well imagine Pence is practicing his part of the swearing in ceremony now. The media and members of the House of Representatives will appropriately talk in somber tones throughout the impeachment process.

When the Senate gets involved and inevitably votes to convict Trump, Trump’s last exclamation will be Et Tu, Mitch?

Now wasn’t that a fun fantasy? Want another one?
