futures traders - please check your 1099-B as follows

  1. If you traded futures, and had one or more futures positions open at the end of the tax year, and you had a non-zero P/L on those open positions, then you are in a position, very easily, to help me with this small research survey on erroneous 1099-B forms, and I'd be most grateful if you took 20 seconds to answer the following.

Please check Box 10, on the 1099-B from your futures broker, or on the section of your 1099-B devoted to futures trades (Section 1256 transactions).

If your broker reported a value of zero in Box 10, then please post that the value was zero.

If your broker reported a non-zero value in Box 10, then please post that the value was non-zero (I don't need to know the number; I just need to know that the value was not zero).

Add any further comments, if you are so disposed to make them.

If you have any comments to share, but you do not meet the criteria described in my above first paragraph, then please make it clear that you do not meet those criteria.

    Thanks to anyone who replies.
