Futures platform required

    Futures platform required that:
    1. Can be set to Flatten ALL positions at a predefined time.
    2. Is server connected so that TPs & SLs will trigger & one cancel all (OCO) function works EVEN when the PLATFORM is disconnected from the internet.

I have Ninja Trader at present, but Ninja is a "Simulated" platform & relies on internet connection to work. Loss of connection for any reason & TPs & SLs are not triggered.
Ninja is connected to Rithmic R/trader so this is covered to a certain degree. However if I have Ninja set to flatten all positions at 3pm CT this will not happen if the internet is down at the time. There is NO setting in Rithmic R/Trader for this.
    Bloody hell.

  2. I use ThinkorSwim for that purpose. NT sucks for that purpose, IMO.

Dead right there. Even MT4 doesn't rely on the internet connection to manage your trades.
I can take the trades directly on R/Trader but it has no facility for closing all trades of at a predefined time.

Not that I have any trouble with the platform staff has made, but seriously thinking of adding this https://www.speedytradingservers.com/ as backup and perhaps Primary as I would have the server in Chicago.

Best bet is design your own Platform as 3rd Party only make what the masses need.

  5. You obviously have the "free" simulation version Ninja and with some vendors it will not hold your "fake" orders on a server. If you stop being cheap and buy/lease a live version of Ninja, Multic, Sierra, XTrader, Ami, Metatrader( with CQG or ...maybe Rithmic data if they support holding orders on their servers). For example, CQGs' servers will hold your live/close order(s) in case you lose power, lose internet connection, etc. You wanna trade like a pro trader with real time, backup order management, then "anti up"($$) my friend. We live in a capitalist economy if you didnt already notice.

Next option up after this is holding a trading platform(Ninja, Multichar., Sierra, etc.) on a VPS like speedytradingservers.com or some other VPS vendor. Will hold and run your platform 24/7 as long as market in which your trading is open. But then again, it will cost you ($$, at least $60-200 per month, NOT including the cost of leasing/buying the trading platform). And, you will need to have a proper version of Windows(like Windows 7 Ultimate for example) which has remote desktop management features to connect to your VPS.

No offense, but you sound like an amateur...

Thanks mate. I will look into this.
I had thought of using a VPS but with Ninja trades being on the "Computer" I didn't think it would work. However I see Ninja is one of their platforms being used so I will see how it goes on demo.

Wrong. I have a paid for Ninja. Bought & paid for 12 yrs ago. You got the wrong end of the stick mate & obviously don't know what you are talking about. Do your home-work before posting crap.

Not all orders are on the computer like limit orders, but often time Globex does not allow orders to be placed into Globex like stops. But I believe if you placed 2 different orders like Stop and buy 2 ticks better won't be placed. .

R Trader does allow you to flatten your positions at a specific time. You do have to specify the quantity, futures contract, etc. Also, you have pay attention to the time that is set in your computer and make sure you place orders according to that. The Rithmic server will configure on their server the time zone you are in according to that.
This time order also resides on the Rithmic servers.

Here is a video that can help you:

    I hope it helps.

There is a risk of loss in futures trading. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

Thanks Matt. Not sure if this will be of use for me. This is for triggering a pending order which will take you out of the existing trade. OK. But. In my case, my trade is a bracket with set SL & TP. If I set the "time" trade for 5am will it be cancelled & flattened if my SL or TP has been hit before this time.??
