Everything old is new again. Some terminology to study up on.

Führerprinzip is the "leader principle" developed in Nazi Germany, which holds that absolute obedience and loyalty must be given to a single, powerful leader (the Führer).

This leader is viewed as embodying the will of the people and the nation, with authority that cannot be questioned. It emphasizes a top-down hierarchical structure where decisions are made by the leader without democratic input, and all power is concentrated in their hands.

This overlaps with chronic MAGA supporters in their strong personal loyalty to Donald Trump, often viewing him as a singular figure who can restore or protect national greatness.

For some, Trump is seen as a decisive leader who stands above conventional political processes.

Dissent or criticism of him is often met with fierce resistance, particularly punishing to errant members.

In both cases, there’s an emphasis on loyalty to the leader as essential for the nation's success, and a tendency to sideline institutions or democratic norms in favor of the leader's authority.

She went ahead and shot herself in the foot again

    "Harris Calls Trump a Fascist"
"Voters asked direct questions. Harris gave circular answers."
    -NYT

Even if, a big if, Trump's a fascist, then the problem is with the checks and balances in government... not Trump. Ergo, Kamala must want to burn it all down and is the actual fascist! QED

She must not know what refutation by contradiction is... welcome to the circular firing squad.

The campaign of joy has now turned into nothing but pure loathing. No policy, no track record, nothing... just pure loathing. Sad.

The extreme radical Democrats have taken over. God help us all! If you're a sane, centrist, Democrat... run as far away as possible.

Spy, you seem younger but we were brought up in a culture that was still recovering from the war. In comics, TV and movies for little boys, killing Nazis was an absolute good.

The portrayal of Nazis as the embodiment of evil became a core part of the moral framework for many in our generation. It’s a deeply ingrained reaction, reflexive, to see anything remotely linked to fascism or authoritarianism in the same light.

We are indoctrinated, programmed from an early age to regard anything with a whiff of Nazi as something to be destroyed.

Similar to the pledge of alliance, Jesuit instruction, when it is taught young, it sticks.

If you came out with that gaslighting tripe in my presence, I would beat you senseless and feel no guilt whatsoever.

Lol... tough guy, huh? You're an empty shell of a person who is clearly in significant mental decline; probably physical decline too. I'm sorry you can't keep up with me. Just enjoy your life and let other's live their own.

This is what TDS panic and stupidity looks like

Get rid of the voting machines and you will see what real democracy looks like.
Dems are always in lockstep, always doubling down = inverted democracy.
Israel will hit Iran any day now, Russia will support Iran.

I put Spy on ignore last night as I don't want to give more energy to a lost cause but judging by the number of replies, I'm sure he kept making his predictable Spy noises looking for attention. He is only interested in trying to look clever as several have noted.

After a good night's sleep, I'm even clearer: anyone who tries to gaslight me into doubting that people like Steven Miller are the kind of threat we’re meant to combat is deluding themselves.

That said, it’s crucial to respect freedom and avoid overreacting to the point that we, the ‘immune response,’ end up like a Covid cytokine storm, doing more harm than good. The moment to act decisively will come, just late, as it always does.

"Miller, the ghoulish white nationalist behind the Trump administration’s most hard-line immigration policies, went on a racist tirade about undocumented immigrants.

“Look at all of these photos around me. Are these the kids you grew up with? Are these the neighbors you were raised with?” Miller asked the crowd."

It is as basic as it gets baiting. Find a bad one, take those emotions of anger and transpose to the wider group. It is all about justification to aquire unchecked and unquestioned power, Führerprinzip rising.

    The Appeal of Simple Narratives

Simplifying complex societal challenges into emotionally charged narratives is highly effective, especially during periods of (engineered) uncertainty.

Research in political psychology shows that when people are afraid, they are more likely to support authoritarian measures and less likely to question the actions of leaders who position themselves as protectors.

This creates an environment ripe for the kind of unchecked power associated with Führerprinzip, where loyalty to the leader is seen as synonymous with patriotism.

Wow FatAss, you are really original, except they have been pushing this for 60 years.

Reductio ad Hitlerum: 60 years of Democrats falsely calling the Republican nominee a fascist

"Blaming the victim" is a term describing situations where responsibility for a harm or problem is unfairly shifted onto the person who suffered from it, rather than focusing on those who actually caused or contributed to the harm. This tendency can manifest in various settings, from crime and discrimination to accidents or interpersonal conflicts, and can perpetuate negative stereotypes or stigmatize victims further. This approach is often unhelpful and can exacerbate the original harm by discouraging people from seeking justice or support. Addressing issues without victim-blaming involves understanding and acknowledging the systemic or situational factors that contribute to these situations.

    Wildchild destroys it.

I happen to be reading Orwell's 1984, for the first time, right now. It's a scary story.
