I'm looking for two types of front ends (or one that does it all) for IB: News Reader I'm subscribed to a lot of news in IB, but the way it spews out in TWS is pretty weak I would not mind a much better and more graceful way to look at the news Something formatted like an Eikon would be great Fundamentals Front-End I don't care about charting at all I'm only interested in the display of all relevant fundamental data, preferably in a more (again) graceful way Anyone know if such a thing exists. Anyone know is there is an interface similar to Eikon or BB that works on top of IB? Thank you.
Not that I have heard of. You need to either write your own (the API provides for news content access, given you are subscribed to the data) or you need to consider platforms like Eikon. They market a retail version starting at $99 which already includes fundamental data access to data. If you consider how much you pay IB for fundamental data access (only you can assess that given your particular need) an Eikon subscription may not be so unreasonable.
I tried Money.net, and found it slow and quite lacking in content. It seemed everything money.net offered IB had (plus more) with regards to fundamental analysis. And money.net was seriously lacking when compared to Eikon, and not even in the same league as a Bloomberg. I have used Eikon under Metastock for a while and I like it (the UI is crisp and it contains a lot of useful information). But their terminal is prone to crashing and quite buggy (often have to refresh workspaces to get the apps to work). And I was a bit dismayed to find that I get *more* Reuters information from IB through their subscription than Eikon was giving me (for example, the list of analysists for a specific stock and what their estimates was. IB breaks it down, Eikon will not). Coupled with apps that work one day and mysteriously stop working the next only to find out after 3 months that it was pulled from supported under Metastock, was the final nail in the coffin. So far, most if not all of the data that I could get under Metastock I could get from IB with their basic subscriptions and/or find for free on Yahoo Finance or Google. The only downside is it's not packaged up pretty like. Ergo, I'm looking for a front end that's nice to look at
