Hello, every one! so, i am going to buy traiding terminal... i have already made a choice. BUT, i wanna know if there are a lot of traders which use off-site software and dont use software which is proposed for free by broker? i would be thankful for even only "yes" or "no"
Billie, People on this forum dont answer untill they see green shots coming from the post. I have been trying to get an ans for a month now but no use. Nada, Zero... Good Luck. Sumeet
i meant trading software... my question is "is it popular - paying for software" or most traders uses free broker software... i am gonna try pt multistation. Order entry, charting, scanner, backtesting, news all these options are supported within it... TIA
The reason why this question gets no replies is because it is hard to generalise without proper backround information. You give no backround information on what you are going to do. How many hours a week will you spend trading? What products will you trade? Will it be fundamental? Technical? Quantative? Algortihmic? How many trades will you be doing a day? If you trade full time then free software may not cut it. Then the investment of 10$-10.000$ a month for a piece of software may be very worth it. Examples: Technical trading, if you make more than 5k a month then it may be interesting to invest in some software. If you news trade an audio news feed may be in order. If you trade of quantative back tests then historic data providers may be useful. If you have a load of algorithms in your head which will generate LOADS of cash then automate them and pay for the software as it will return. The only one who can decide what its worth is you. Compare the difference between free charts and 50$ a month charts and quantify the value. Demo an audio news feed and see if you did a trade off one of their calls that made you back their monthly cost, if you do then the math should be easy. What others do will only be based on their current needs and how they use the tools they pay for, thus asking what people use can only be done in the correct context. Personally I use Bloomberg Reuters IB Proprietary quantative software Proprietary trading software TTpro Orc
great thanks!!! you answered my question with your answer) can you please tell, about software that you use... you have a pretty long list, can you describe how you separate which soft for which needs? TIA
