Hello all, Is it possible to get free EOD 1-minute OHLC data for ES futures anywhere? If not, where can I get this as cheap as possible? In the past, I used IQ feed and ripped data off the stream using QCollector. Sadly, I'm not too well capitalized at the moment, so it would be fantastic if I could get this done cheaper, at least initially. I'm thinking I could do a trial with IQ to build my database, but I'm still in need of updating my database, at least on an EOD basis, ideally in real time. Maybe I'll just have to pay up for IQ feed, but it would be great not to. Thanks in advance.
a) I hope one of us will be so nice to give you the historical data for free, but you need to specify what exactly you're looking for (at least I don't really get it). b) every broker should provide you free or cheap data. c) I think I know what you want to do - backtesting an automated system? take it as a nice tip - spare yourself that time, it will not work (profitably)
a) Actually, I did that for a few guys back in the day when I had IQ feed myself. Now, I already got an offer to obtain this from a kind gentleman here, but I don't prefer to rely on anyone to get this data on a daily basis, although it could help me get started again. b) Yes. I will probably be using Mirus/Amp which provides real-time tick data, but I don't think I can get historical minute data from them for my use. c) You're wrong about what I want to do with the data. You may also be wrong about the automated trading system, but I don't know too much about that.
