Trump loves to take credit for things that he inherited.

Obama is like Trump's daddy in that regard.

“When Barack Obama came to office, he was losing 600, 700 thousand jobs a month. We were in financial free-fall, correct?… By the end of his administration, in his final 21 months, he created more jobs than President Trump has created in his first 21 months.”

As the hosts of Fox & Friends talked about the booming Trump economy this morning, Pete Hegseth said that Democrats clearly don’t want to talk about the economy because of how well it’s doing.

He criticized former President Barack Obama for trying to take credit, but Ed Henry jumped in and said, “You’ve read the numbers, I’m sure. Barack Obama created more jobs in his final 21 months than President Trump has created in his first 21.”

Henry added, “I’m not saying this President inherited it, but would you acknowledge that he was handed a better economy than Barack Obama got?”

Hegseth responded, “Here’s what I’ll acknowledge. Four million new jobs, over four million less people on food stamps. To me, that is a reflection of a President that puts business and the private sector ahead of government assistance and bailouts.”

Henry said, “He was handed a good economy and made it better.”

Later on in the show, the hosts spoke with Fox Business’ Stuart Varney, who said America has “returned to prosperity” under Trump.

After Varney praised the Trump economy, Henry first joked about Hegseth getting “triggered” whenever he hears anything positive about Obama before saying this:

“When Barack Obama came to office, he was losing 600, 700 thousand jobs a month. We were in financial free-fall, correct?… By the end of his administration, in his final 21 months, he created more jobs than President Trump has created in his first 21 months.”

Katie Pavlich asked, “Are you saying he started this?”

“President Trump has done a great job on the economy. Cutting taxes, regulations, it’s roaring. You’re absolutely right,” Henry said. “All I’m saying is wasn’t the table set by Barack Obama? Why can’t Republicans just admit that?”

Varney shot back, “It was not set by President Obama. The policies pursued by President Obama were tax, spend, going to debt, and regulate heavily.”

Henry responded, “Hang on, how much debt has President Trump added?”

At one point Henry noted that while Trump’s clearly been responsible for a lot of success, he’s “spending money like mad and adding to the debt.”
