In the heart of Sunny Meadow lived a family of foxes known for their cunning and love of chicken. For generations, their only obstacle had been the dreaded chicken wire, a cruel invention that denied them their rightful meals.

One day, the second son fox, Fartley, discovered something remarkable—a factory producing the very wire that kept their dinners out of reach. Inspiration struck.

“We’ve been going about this all wrong,” he told his family. “Why waste time sneaking into coops when we can simply eliminate the barriers?”

The foxes nodded, intrigued. Fartley continued, “We’ll argue that chicken wire is an outrage—too expensive, wasteful, and harmful to the environment. We’ll say the factory engages in fraud, that it’s a relic of an oppressive system.”

And so, the foxes launched a campaign. They staged protests outside the factory, chanting, “Save our chickens!” and “No more wire!” Other animals, not known for their critical thinking, joined in. The rabbits feared fences might be next. The badgers, always up for a grievance, demanded wire-free burrows.

The factory owners, alarmed by the growing movement, attempted to reason with the foxes. “Surely you see that chicken wire keeps the meadow safe,” they argued. “Without it, there will be chaos.”

    “Scaremongering!” Fartley scoffed.

Desperate, the factory owners made a final offer: free chickens in exchange for peace. But the foxes feigned outrage. “Bribery! Corruption!” they howled, as they secretly licked their chops.

At last, the factory shut down, its workers scattered. The campaign had succeeded. That night, as the foxes feasted on defenseless hens, Fartley raised a toast.

    “To justice,” he declared.

From then on, Sunny Meadow was a freer place—at least for the foxes.
