Doing my taxes, ugh! The Form 1099B that is downloadable from IB for my account has only a single amount for Box 2 -- Total Gross Proceeds Less Commissions. That's it! There's no itemization of individual trades like I've received in years past. I trade equities only. Has something changed with the 1099B this year whereby IB sends me one dollar figure, and I'm left to figure out all the gains/losses for each individual trade? Thanks in advance if anyone can clue me in on this. so
Your 1099B is a report to the IRS, which does not itemize equity trades. A separate report, your annual account summary, does itemize all your Interactive Broker trades, and it is available from the account management page of your account. If you don't know how to log in to your account mgmt page, and you can't figure that out from the website, then IB CS reps will be able to explain how to do this.
