Hello... I was wondering if anyone here would have information about someone that is a foreign day trader and is looking to move to the USA to live exclusively from trading. Since there would be no Work permit, as a retail trader, an "E" Visa would not be applicable and I have no close friends or family in the country, I don´t know what would the best way to do it.
I´m a physician(worked 5 years as such, but not anymore), Brazilian with an European second citizenship, currently living in Europe.
Thank you in advance for any answers.

Before I give you advice, why do you want to move?

Since you are currently living in Europe, I would say stay there, since the hours are much better for trading both markets. And depending on your location, the cost of living is probably much cheaper.

Not to mention you would be technically speaking a tourist and would have to leave the country every so often...

So unless you have a very good reason to do it, don't....

LOL... Thank you for the concern... But, to me, those are not issues...
The reason why I opened this thread is precisely that I´m looking to know, given the situation I described above, how NOT to be in the US as a tourist...
And regarding my reasons to want this, let´s just say that "it´s part of my personality":D...

Based upon what you've briefly described...you will only be able to come to the U.S. as a tourist.

In contrast, I'm sure you know other ways but you're not interested in them. For example, many in your situation and single (you didn't mention your marital status) would simply join one of those international dating websites...meet someone in the desire country...fall in love and then visit their love's country several times to help establish a relationship and then they get married.

I have a friend that did just that 8 years ago...still happily married and now with 2 kids...owner of two Subway stores.

Another option...you're a business owner and you've applied for permits to open a business in the U.S. in which you will hire U.S. citizens. I know someone that did just that but I don't know the details. He has a business in Portugal but its now headquarter in the U.S.

There's other ways besides the above but they require you to be rich and with connections to the U.S. government.

Oddly, you mention retail trading but without any information about such. For example, if you were highly profitable...you would set it up under a business entity and gain entrance into the U.S. via your business (more complicated and difficult).

Simply, there's more to your story than you're revealing because as I stated...there's other ways into the U.S. that I'm sure you've read about at any U.S. immigration info website but for some reason you're not qualified or not interested. Thus, you've started this thread in hoping that someone will give you an option that you like that those U.S. immigration websites failed to mention at their website. :D

Until then...be happy as a tourist...make friends (develop a network) and maybe such will open a new doorway for you.

P.S. What do you trade and who is your broker ?

Thank you again for the answer.... And yes, I have a wife here, which is Brazilian too... I thought of and had previously read about the possibilities you mentioned... The one that seemed most "plausible" was opening a business there and creating jobs for US citizens as you mentioned, but that would make me do exactly the opposite of what motivated me to get into trading... LOL... I thought also about sending my track record to trading firms and/or banks so that they´d hire me, not because of the salary obviously, but because of the permit that would be given to me because of the work contract, but that would make me incur in the same issue... LOL
My wife has a cousin, whose husband (Italian citizen) moved to the US last year because of a job he got there. But I can´t see how they would be able to help us and even if that were the case, I wouldn´t like to bother them asking for favors. What I´m trying to do is figure out if there is a way to do this without asking favors and still maintain my fully "independent" condition....:D That is something that obviously will not be simple, but I´m not desperate or anything.... Just gathering ideas...

The funny thing is, most American traders are trying to get ride off of the American restrictions and taxes, and OP seems to be seeking them. As a trader, you want flexibility (opening any kind of accounts, no CFDs for US)) less taxes (US taxes you on worldwide income) geographical closeness to markets traded (again, Europe is better if both markets played), cheap cost of living (the US is mostly not cheap)...etc.

So you have to give us a really fucking good reason why you wanna be here, specially when you can't even get a non-tourist visa...

I mean sure, come for a vacation, but stay the hell where you are as a resident... :)

Again, I appreciate your concern... LOL But my motivations have no relevance to the thread... But I get it... You don´t want to answer if I don´t satisfy your "conditions" for you to do so... Or you simply don´t know... That´s OK... I thank you for the time you took to send both messages to the thread anyway...:D;)

By the way, rereading your fist post, there was actually no question in it... :)

You were just "wondering about" general info. I provided it... Since you aren't single or at least a half-millionaire, there is no any best way around it...

Pekelo, who actually used the best way
