Foreign Policy Paradox.

  1. North Korea doesn't adhere to their agreement (even Bolton agrees) and yet they are going to get a second summit, IRAN meets its obligations verifiably (by even our state dept.) and lost its deal. WTF?

  2. An honest question deserving of an honest answer. Not surprised at the lack of response, it's a touchy situation that most people can't, and won't be honest about.
In a nutshell the reason is because NK doesn't really present a global threat, whereas Iran does and there's one other element as well. For all the hyperventilating about NK, any conflict would be largely, probably wholly contained to the Korean peninsula. Would millions die, maybe tens of millions? Probably. Who really gives a shit about that? Answer, not many of the big picture boyz. China would huff and puff, as would the Russkies, but in reality isn't anyone going to do a god damn thing about it so long as we let the Norks make the first move.
That brings us to Iran. Iran on the other hand can and does have a much larger influence on world affairs which reach far beyond the middle east, which is in itself a more important region than the Korean peninsula. Then there's that other element mentioned. Bet you already guessed it. Israel. Add that into the mix and we're always going to take a much harder line with Iran than NK.
Not arguing the right or wrong of it, just shinning the light on the ugly truth of it.

Iran deal had Obama's name attached to it, Trump wants his attached to North Korea's, it's as petty and simple as that. Don't ever overthink what dumb people do, it'll drive you mad.

  5. That may be a very small part of it, and even that's debatable. Not everything can be broken down to Trump being Trump no matter how much you want it to be that cut and dry. That may make your life simple when deciding who to support and who to oppose, but the reality is it's much more complicated than that given the absolute, undeniable fact that the entire government is corrupt to the core. The talking heads and powers that be want us to believe that there's a substantive difference between the two establishment parties. There isn't.
