    Is anyone using fmlabs.com toolkit? I've come across it looking for trading api's. Website looks interesting, but not finding much discussion about it anywhere. Is anyone using it? How do you like it?

    There must be some users out there. They're web site has been up for 10 years (see history at alexa.com).

    Alexa may work well for high traffic sights but I question it's vaildity for less visible entities. Just look at their entry for Mechanica;

    http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?url=www.mechanicasoftware.com

    Anyway fmlabs appears to be close to what I'm looking for. I just want to hear from *someone* who has used it. Thx.

    The Alexa ratings are all but useless. If the user does ont have the Alexa toolbar they have no traffic information.

    About the Alexa Traffic Rankings
    A listing of all sites on the Web, sorted by traffic...
    Alexa computes traffic rankings by analyzing the Web usage of millions of Alexa Toolbar users. The information is sorted, sifted, anonymized, counted, and computed, until, finally, we get the traffic rankings shown in the Alexa service. The process is relatively complex, but if you have a need to know, please read on.

    I never did hear from anyone who used it.

    But I took the plunge and am glad I did. It's well worth the ~$400. It's mature, well thought out and evolved into a very nice api.

    It's got a fairly rich api providing for the following;

    file i/o - apis to read candle data from csv files directly into toolkit data structures

    trading functions, buyToOpen, etc.

    optimization: provides apis to iterate through parameter ranges as well as record performane numbers for each iteration

    graphing functions; provides simple candle and indicator apis to create charts very easily.

    With it I was able to get a simple backtesting app up and running in just a few weeks.
