  1. Michael Flynn May Be Cooperating With Robert Mueller’s Russia Probe: Report
The former national security adviser could be trying to negotiate a deal with the special counsel.

President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, may be moving to cooperate with the special counsel investigating ties between the Trump campaign and efforts by Russia to meddle in the 2016 presidential election, The New York Times reported Thursday.

Lawyers for Flynn have reportedly stopped sharing information about special counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing probe with the White House, a move the Times notes could signal Flynn’s cooperation with the investigation or that he is in the process of negotiating some sort of legal deal. Flynn’s lawyers had been cooperating with Trump’s legal team, as defense teams often do, but recently notified the White House they could no longer discuss the investigation.

  3. ‘He’s made things up before’: Fox panel prepares its viewers to turn on Flynn if he rats out Trump

A Fox News panel on Friday reacted to the news that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn might be cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe by fretting that Flynn would lie about President Donald Trump if it meant keeping his son out of jail.

Panelist David Avella started off by slamming new leaks about Mueller’s investigation, which he said was a carefully constructed “PR stunt” intended to convince Americans that Trump had colluded with Russian government agents during the 2016 presidential election. Avella also said that it was ridiculous to focus on the 18 trips to Russia that were made by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, since Hillary Clinton had also traveled to Russia during her time as secretary of state.

Host Dagen McDowell interjected and pointed out that Mueller’s probe was much more serious than a “PR stunt.” However, she worried that Mueller would use his leverage over Flynn to force him to lie about Trump as a way to keep his son, Michael Flynn Jr., from serving a prison sentence.

“The danger is these investigations put pressure on people to say things to get their loved ones off the hook,” she said. “I will point to Michael Flynn’s son… He’s expressed concern in recent weeks that prosecutors will bring charges against his son. There lies the shadiness of the investigations. You put pressure on people to tell the special council things that did or didn’t happen.”

Panelist Kat Timpf shared McDowell’s assessment, and said that Flynn had a demonstrated history of lying.

“Michael Flynn has made things up before. He’s not really a trustworthy guy,” she said. “We know for a fact that he lied when he said those meetings with the Russians were holiday greetings — turns out they were talking about sanctions.”

  4. Absolutely zero confirmation that Flynn cooperating automatically implies that he has something on Trump- despite you and your ilk in the media beating that drum.

Flynn has had contact with turkey and the Russies bigtime. And he knows a lot about mannaforte's contacts. Flynn has just remained quiet and pled the fifth so Mueller has no way of getting him to reveal all his contacts without putting the squeeze on him, yet Mueller is tasked with tracking down all those foreign contacts and figuring out what they mean. And Mueller has put the squeeze on Flynn's son too. So Flynn's flipping- if that is true- means he will provide info on all of that but it is only an assumption on the part of the leftist hemorrhoids that that means he has something on Trump. That remains to be seen. So far, neither Flynn nor Mannafort have been accused of anything related to the campaign, it is all related to things they did separately before the campaign. You can easily make the opposite argument , and many pundits are, ie. that Mueller is continuing to go further and further afield to find scalps to justify his existence because the plot to get Trump on obstruction of justice and to impeach him ain't gonna happen. Might get Ivanka on a tax charge from six years ago or something. Both Flynn and Mannafort, and some small ducks will take hits on things that were obvious to anyone who wanted to look at them and prosecute them. They were already known and on Mueller's desk when he arrived.

In regard to Fox leaning into the "Flynn's a liar" strategy. Okay. So what. They protect Trump. However it is not true that they are pulling that argument out their collective arses. He is a liar and that is a factor. He lied on several government forms about foreign contact, he lied to the FBI about it when he was interviewed by the FBI, and he was fired by the president for - you guessed it- lying to the Vice President. You see a pattern there? Now he is looking for a plea deal for himself and his son and knows that he needs to possess juicy material to be able to offer something to the FBI in return for a plea. So don't be surprised if anything goes to trial that his credibility will be challenged- regardless of whether Fox News supports it or not. The guy is a liar and the fbi also knows that he is a high risk individual to build a case around and he better lead them to a set a of facts that can be independently corroborated, because as a standalone witness, he is a dud.

As I have said a dozen times, this is a witch-hunt and outright political warfare and no one should bother to point out that there will be casualties along the way (just as there will be for Camp Hillary). But the overarching goal of the witch -hunt is to get a prosecution of trump for obstruction of justice in firing Comey and then to remove him through impeachment. NEITHER ONE OF THOSE ARE GOING TO HAPPEN EVEN THOUGH THERE WILL BE LOTS OF BLOOD ON THE FLOOR ALONG THE WAY.

Flynn is a critical player if obstruction of justice is on the table.

Remember the story about how Trump cleared the Oval Office of everyone except Comey and Comey alleged Trump asked him if he could look past investigating Flynn because he’s a good guy. Yeah, I wonder what Flynn can contribute considering he was the principle target Trump was seeking to obstruct justice for, allegedly (lol).

I’m guessing obstruction of justice is on the table.

  7. It is on the table. That is goal of the witch hunt along with impeachment. Mueller doesn't get everything he wants though. He has to make a case and if he tries for a conviction and cant get one then he joins the ranks of Comey: Another fbi director who walked on water but ended out being perceived as a political hack. He knows that. And the justice department is feeling especially humbled this week after months of grinding away at trying to bring menendez down and finding out that the jurors don't automatically line up like ducks just because the government would like a conviction. In the end, the defendant gets to put on a case too- duh.

    Three big problems for Mueller.

    1) Unlike the lefty media, he knows that all this proving that Russians were contacted does not in and of itself constitute collusion. He has a long way to go on that and he knows it.

    2) The notes that Trump made before firing Comey were found and revealed and they were all in his favor in a way that a prosecutor does not want to see. He covered many reasons why comey needed to be fired. Not something Mueller wants to have a jury see when he is trying to prove that he just wanted to stop a Russian-Trump investigation.

    3) Even lefties like Alan Dershowitz just flat out say, that it is headed nowhere. Trump has the absolute power to fire the FBI director at any time for a good reason, a bad reason, or no reason at all- PERIOD. So to dick around and tell him he can't for some reason is to attempt to undermine his constitutional power.

Mueller has a long, long way to go in overcoming those factors and he will not want to try for a prosecution unless he can get one. Losing that one is not something he wants as part of his legacy. Squeezing the living bejesuzz out of Flynn to find out what he can get is something he needs to do. But it still does not mean Flynn has anything that bring trump down. More likely Mueller will just chickenshit around and try to get underlings to justify his existence.

You keep saying the special counsel’s Investigation is a witch hunt but I assure you Mueller has a very real charge:

Russia was active in our election, there were multiple meetings with his family and henchmen, communications throughout and widely shared and Trump officials in the White House who have hidden those meetings and communications, even from the fbi. That is not the basis for a witch hunt. This is a very real investigation into the corruption of an election for president that was supposed to be free and fair and was anything but.

You may regurgitate the state run media’s line given to you through hypnosis on the Fox News channel, but that jive on Mueller and Comey you constantly say tracks with Trumps approval numbers. Meaning it’s something only the true believers think.

Trump is corrupt. He will be lucky if he avoids prison.

    exGOPer and Cuddles like this.
  9. He may have a real charge but that in itself does not mean he is following it. Not only is he looking at matters outside his specific mission but he also is not looking at matters that are within his charge but involve Hillary so he is not going there.

But that's fine. Contrary to what you and some others here may think. I am not in any way trying to fend Mueller off for two reasons:

    1) I don't think Mueller can get a conviction on the obstruction charge or provide a basis for impeachment. I would love to see him go down that road as soon and as fast as possible. I think it will drain him, and defense lawyers will either slaughter him outright or keep it churning in the courts for years while turning trump into a martyr.

    2) I am after Hillary. Not trying to defend Trump. I think Trump can fend off the big hits. But it is the inequity of hunting trump without hunting Hillary that is causing congress to think about appointing a witch hunter for Hillary. I don't want to see that go away which would happen if it looked like Mueller was going away anytime soon. No. I want Mueller to lean into it even more so that congress will feel they need to go after to Hillary to even the score. My message to Mueller is very simple: BRING IT ON ARSEWIPE.

And I don't completely have a problem with Mueller going astray and trying to look at all sorts of other things- because I am looking forward to just doing a similar witch hunt on Hillary- no holds barred. BRING IT ON.

It would be a beautiful thing if muellers witch hunting of trump causes congress to appoint a witch hunter for Hillary. Then trump beats all major charges but Hillary gets in to a legal mess or total public trashing when her Shiite is exposed. Yeh. Sign me up for watching that. Already a little bit of that going on with this fusion gps cesspool. And more to come with Uranium deal cesspool You want a witch hunter to look at Russian connections? Giddy-up. Let's go.

I very much doubt that Trump will go to prison as you assert. First I expect a number of his associates will take any type of fall rather than Trump. Secondly -- Trump, as President, is effectively immune from civil and criminal prosecution -- the more likely path is that Trump would be impeached if a special prosecutor brought forward compelling evidence directly against the President.
