Hello, anyone knows if the Fixing manipulation in currencies still happens, because of the many punishments of many banks in the last years here. From time to time it is coming up in the medias of a known price manipulation, even on other (derivative) instruments at fixing. So I think this must be something very broad and common among certain traders. But I am not aware of those Bloomberg chat groups when they 'organize' in groups their buying and selling here. But I would like to know if someone has an idea if it still happens or could happen (because of....seen some behavior here, or heard of anything..., etc.). Thanks.
How do you know that being certain ? And I am not talking about MEME stocks or other stocks in particular. Please tell us more.
You should make an effort to learn "Price TA"... that is, "what the market is doing right now" without regard to "who is doing what and why?". Likely you won't get to know that, IF EVER, and certainly not in time for that info to be of value.
I am not so sure about that it cannot be learned in any way, Scataphagos. But I have seen the hand signature of the SNB when they move a basket of CHF related currencies with no news about 10 pips or so in less than 10 seconds at NY opening until before the US stock market opens or so and that severel times always. Nevertheless I am interested to see if anyone knows here something. If you cannot contribute anything or any other person it does not make sense to tell me something different. That does not produce any value to this topic here. By the way I do not like your plain Price Action style at all from what I have read from you. There is no value here, from my years of backtesting I can tell you for sure. So it is all about money management for you and minizing losses with 'having no edge' here. It is also always better to ask the 'why', because if there is a reason for a move that it is more likely to happen in the future again. So I can disagree with you in more ways. If anyone can contribute here something, I am happy to listen...
Then you, sir, are a fool. The best that can possibly be done is to have your money positioned where the market has its. The best way to navigate that is by understanding "Price TA".
Andy, search for posts by Mute2009. He's madder'n a wet hen about collusion too. While you two solve that leetle problem, Keep in mind you need to take care of it in the Political spectrum then Sanctify Humanity such that they can be trusted around tamperable monitary systems, the rest of us will deal with it in whatever ways we find effective. Alert us all when you two crimefighters get finished - or get 'finished' if ya know what I mean, lol, meanwhile back on planet earth, Traders gonna trade, baby.
Manipulators provide trading opportunities. Be thankful when there are trading opportunities. If you are fearful of them, if you find them to be a problem, you should do anything other than trading.
I am asking about actual examples of Fixing price manipulation and not about the known history here. That does not interest me, because I cannot profit from it, what happened in the past. How to profit from it is another question, I am not asking here. I am also not intended to be a kind of crimefighter. You misunderstood me completely. But everything what is influencing my instruments, here Spot Forex, that is interesting for me. And second, sorry that I do not have all the detailed reports of the trash anymore what did not work going walk forward or out-of-sample or after going live. But I can tell you that pure Price Action or looking for 'certain' patterns, is just bullshit (for me). It does not work, anything here is just hindsight. And I am talking about strategies with Sharpe Ratios greater 4. I am not interested in that overnight anomaly in the stock index market or turn of month seasonality, which can only lead to a Sharpe Ratio of 2 even with some filters. All that does not mean I do no care about technicals, I do. If everyone can contribute to this topic is welcomed here. I am asking for actual FIXING manipulation that are happening right now in these days. Anyone heard of or seen something...? I already made an example of the SNB I might guessing here, but is not at fixing. Anyone knows more about the behavior of the SNB and their abrupt moves in CHF related currencies, because I did not study this explicitly so far, but I have seen it so many times in the last months. So I would like to know more here too.
